What is yuvajana sramika rythu congress party?

Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) is a regional political party in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It was founded in 2011 by YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who was a member of the Indian National Congress earlier. The party is based on the ideologies of social democracy, secularism, and regional autonomy.

YSRCP won a majority of seats in the 2019 state assembly elections and formed the government in Andhra Pradesh. YS Jaganmohan Reddy became the Chief Minister of the state. The party is known for its pro-farmer policies, with a focus on providing input subsidies, loan waivers, and free electricity to farmers.

Apart from its popular welfare schemes like Rythu Bharosa and Amma Vodi, the party has also initiated several developmental projects like the construction of new ports, airports, and irrigation projects.

YSRCP has been critical of the central government and has accused it of neglecting the state’s interests. The party has been vocal in demanding special category status for Andhra Pradesh, which was promised during the bifurcation of the state in 2014.
